What are some alternative ways to make money other than by having a job?
I know a lot of people who work from home. So I have to disagree with some of the posters saying that they are scams and to watch out for them. I’m not saying that their aren’t any out there, but everyone that I know who works from are have never been scammed. I guess you just need to look. There are a lot of working from home opportunities out there. Some people apply for a position to work for a company, some people start their own business and run it out of their homes. Many different industries that you can do that with, and quite a few companies in which you can work for, you’ll have to apply for the job, do hiring process and they will expect you to be able to perform different task and be qualified to do them. They’re no different than a traditional job, other than the fact of your work environment is from home and not in another building.
You could put some money in a bank and let it accumulate interest.

You can put your Mother-in-law out to hire. Maybe your brother. Just kidding. Invest, rent a room out, have a garage sale. Really not much you can do to make money without working.

A simple idea for a rainy day
offer a "Walking Umbrella Service" to people who unexpectedly get caught up in a heavy downpour
kindly offer to walk them in shelter to where the are going for a small fee
all you need is plenty of rain a large strong umbrella and a comfortable pair of walking shoos,
you would be surprised at how many people would be glad of a service like this, tourists shoppers and office workers in a city or built up area
just think of all the tips you could accumulate in just a few hours
